Geraniol has a floral, rose-like odour with a soft, sweet character. It is used as a building block in fragrance compositions to bring out floral and rosy notes.
Blend in small proportions with other aroma chemicals or essential oils to build a fragrance accord, then dilute in a carrier or solvent as needed for the intended application.
