Aldehyde C11 carries a waxy, fatty note with a metallic edge, often described as sharp when smelled undiluted and softer, more rounded once blended into a composition. It is one of the aldehydes used to lend lift and a distinctive top character to florals and other fragrance types.
Use in small proportion within a fragrance or soap base, dissolved in a suitable solvent and blended gradually, since it is strong even in small amounts. Test the blend at low dilution before scaling up.
