DEP is a colourless, oily liquid with virtually no scent of its own, used widely as a carrier solvent in fragrance and cosmetic work. It mixes easily with perfume oils, aroma chemicals and musks, allowing concentrated materials to be brought down to a usable strength without altering their character.
It is commonly used in spray perfume and attar making, soap fragrance blending, and cosmetic formulations where a neutral solvent base is needed to carry scent evenly through a product.
Add gradually to perfume oil or compound and stir until fully blended, adjusting the proportion according to the strength needed. It can also be used to pre-dilute strong aroma chemicals before adding them to a larger batch.
