Calone is known for its fresh, oceanic character, often described as watery, melon-like and slightly green. At 10% strength, it is easier to measure and blend into compositions without overpowering other notes. It is one of the materials associated with aquatic and marine style fragrances.
It is used by perfumers and attar makers to build fresh, aquatic or ozonic accords in spray perfumes, colognes and related compositions. It can also be used in small amounts in soap and cosmetic fragrance blends where a fresh marine note is wanted.
Add in small amounts to a perfume or cologne base and blend with other aroma chemicals or essential oils, adjusting the quantity to reach the desired strength of the marine note. Dissolve fully before combining with other liquids in the formulation.
