Bergamot Oil has a bright, citrus top note with a faint floral and slightly sweet undertone, typical of cold-pressed peel oils. It is used in small amounts to add a fresh, lifted opening to a blend before the heart and base notes develop.
It is used in perfume and attar compositions, soap making, candle fragrance blends, and cosmetic preparations where a citrus note is wanted.
Blend in small proportion with other essential oils or aroma chemicals, as bergamot is a top note and tends to be used at lower levels than base or heart materials. Dilute in a carrier oil or alcohol base according to the intended application.
